Life is a retreat. If I can do it, you can do it too.
After joining retreats myself, I used to feel a bit scared of going back home. Home felt like another world. With people being harsh, my work environment filled with stressful deadlines and had the feeling I had to prove myself so much. I missed a sense of purpose. I had issues with integrating things in my daily life.
I recognize it in friends and in participants of events. Running from retreat to retreat, but feeling sad and empty back home. Going away for a weekend or a week can be lovely for inspiration, for perspective, for driving deeper, for support, oh yes, big fan of them. AND. What can you change and do in your daily life, so you actually don't NEED it. That a retreat becomes like a treat. An extra. A cherry on top of your awesome cake - the cake being a beautiful life you have created for yourself.
After hosting a training this weekend, I woke up today, started dancing, having breakfast in the sun and now Im on my way to the forest to fuel myself with trees, silence and the singing birds. Tonight im having a beautiful singing circle. There seems to be not much of a difference any more with retreats..
It is possible. If I can do it, you can do it.
So, what can you do today to live the life you don't want to retreat from? What small step can you take? Go for it.. Make your life a retreat. Allow yourself to receive this beautiful world, this beautiful creation, you deserve it.
